Bomber Insiders: Why we only use the highest-quality materials
We hear the phrase “high-quality” constantly throughout the day. “High-quality” ingredients, “high-quality” material, and “high-quality” services. But what does “high-quality” really mean? How do we know who is providing top tier protection and who isn’t?
We can start by doing our own research. At Bomber Eyewear, we're committed to a deep understanding of what materials and ingredients are being used throughout our design and production processes. We guarantee this by reading labels, descriptions, and ingredient levels. But most importantly, we also learn about the companies and development processes we’re investing our money into.
BOMBER EYEWEAR was founded in 1997 when founder and World Champion Jet Ski Racer Tommy “The Bomber” Bonacci worked construction jobs during the off season. He found that the safety glasses he was using on these job sites were extremely uncomfortable and simply…not cool-looking. He decided to take a pair of sunglasses that one of his jet ski sponsors gave him, and with torn-off pieces of foam padding from his jet ski, he lined the inside of his glasses with this foam, found them to be extremely comfortable -- and the very first prototype for Bomber Eyewear was born.
The instant feedback was all the same: not only did his shades look cool, but they were comfortable too. He immediately started selling them out of his backpack. And one day, while out testing one of his jet skis, they fell off his head and floated to the top of the water. Turns out that the same foam-lining that made the shades super comfy, is the same stuff that also made them float! So, in 1997, he patented the idea...and here we are more than 20 years later.
Okay, okay -- so what does all this have to do with our "high-quality materials"?
Tommy spent years sourcing for the highest quality materials on the market, and we continue to analyze and refine our material processes with every production run. Fun fact: We even source the same material ingredients as many luxury and designer glasses brands. That means that at the end of the day, when you put on your $70 Bomber Eyewear, you're wearing all the same materials you'd find in a $200+ luxury alternative. It's no wonder people love our frames so much!
Plus, our patented foam lining technology offers water sports enthusiasts, fishermen, and everyone in between (like people with deep bathtubs or something -- we don't judge) eyewear that is comfortable, durable, stylish and able to float.
Our eyewear comes equipped with patented snug-fit floating technology—enabling a super comfy and secure fit, along with scratch-resistant lenses available in an array of colors and several different options such as: polarized, photochromic, bifocals, blue-light blocking, hydrophobic de-centered, optically correct, and anti-fog.
As a bonus, all of our glasses in our Safety Line of shades meet ANSI Z87+ and impact-resistant standards and feature polycarbonate lenses, with safety markings on both the frames and lens. The flexible frames, coupled with Bomber’s patented foam lining technology, makes our eyewear ideal for hours of comfortable wear, while keeping them lightweight. We also have wrap-around styles that provide added protection against debris, wind, and glare.
At the end of the day, Bomber Eyewear offers simply the best -- because YOU are the best, and we want to protect your peepers every day without sacrificing style, comfort, or price point. Leave those luxury brands behind and shop your favorite Bomber styles, knowing for sure that you're getting the best materials the market can buy, and a perfect fit every time.
