The Hawaiian Lifeguard Association is the backbone of ocean safety across the islands. Their mission is simple and relentless: advance the professionalism of Hawai'i's lifeguards and drive down drownings and water injuries — wherever the water gets dangerous.

That work runs deep. HLA sets the professional standard for surf and open-water rescue, serves as the state's leading voice on water-safety education, and funds the Statewide Junior Lifeguard Program — curriculum, training, gear, and travel for the next generation learning to read the ocean and save lives.

What is Paddle for Life

100 miles. One canoe. Every mile a promise.

This isn't a fundraiser with a finish-line ribbon. It's HLA President Kalani Vierra paddling a one-man outrigger canoe the entire way around Kaua'i — start to finish at Po'ipū — to put water safety in front of everyone who lives and plays in these waters.

A friendship

Our road with Kalani goes back years. He's one of the most respected watermen in Hawai'i — a Waterman Hall of Famer, operations chief for Kaua'i Fire and Ocean Safety, and the president of the HLA — and through all of it, he's had Bomber's back.

He's supported us. We've supported him. That kind of mutual respect isn't a sponsorship — it's a friendship. This collection is that friendship made real: a way to stand behind Kalani and the whole Hawaiian lifeguard community that keeps these waters safe.
